Pax is the independent visual practice of Yi Huang, based in Shanghai. A ripple, a building, a collection record: each can be a place to begin.

The practice moves between direct observation and constructed worlds. Field recordings hold ordinary moments. Cultural research follows the traces of places and objects. Interfaces test how those traces can be read together.

Speculative studies give imagined artists a working life, a material vocabulary and a body of work. They are presented as constructions, with a clear distance from the documentary record.
